For Edilab clients

Use Edilab from ChatGPT or Claude.

Connect your Edilab account to the AI assistant you already use. Ask where your project stands, what’s waiting for your approval or when your next invoice is due, in plain words. You choose what it can see and do, and you can pause it any time.

01 · What it does

Your Edilab account, in the assistant you use.

Edilab works like a connector inside ChatGPT or Claude: the assistant asks Edilab for what you need and shows you the answer in your chat.

Ask about your work

Where your project stands, what’s waiting for your approval, your shared files, social posts, invoices, messages and AI agent reports — answered from your real Edilab account.

Act only when you allow it

Leave a comment on a design, approve a post or message your team. Approving, uploading and messaging start switched off; you turn on only what you want.

Stay in control

Choose exactly what it can see and do, see every request it makes in your activity, pause it instantly or disconnect it for good.

02 · Before you start

Three things you need.

  1. 1

    An Edilab client account

The same email you use to sign in to the Edilab app. The assistant signs in as you and sees only your company.

  2. 2

Assistants turned on for your company

AI assistant access is off for every company until Edilab turns it on. Ask your Edilab contact to turn it on for you.

  3. 3

A ChatGPT or Claude plan with custom connectors

Which plans allow it is listed under each assistant below.

Your connector URL

You’ll paste this into ChatGPT or Claude. It’s the same for everyone: your sign-in decides what the assistant can reach.

03 · Set it up

Connect it in about two minutes.

Pick your assistant. Both end on the same Edilab page, where you choose what it may see and do.

ChatGPT

by OpenAI

Who can use it: Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, connectors that can also make changes work once developer mode is on (an admin may need to allow it). Other paid plans may only allow connectors that read. Not available on the Free plan.

  1. On chatgpt.com, open Settings and go to the area for apps and connectors. OpenAI renames it from time to time. If your plan asks for it, turn on Developer mode there first.
  2. Add a custom MCP server (ChatGPT may call it a custom app or connector). Name it Edilab, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth for sign-in.
  3. ChatGPT shows a warning about custom servers. Read it and confirm to continue.
  4. The Edilab sign-in page opens. Sign in with your Edilab email, choose what ChatGPT can see and do, and press Allow selected.
  5. In a new chat, turn Edilab on from the menu under the message box, then ask your question.

Checked against OpenAI’s help article in October 2026. Their menus change from time to time; if a label looks different, that page has the current one.

Claude

by Anthropic

Who can use it: Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, on the web and the desktop app. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds Edilab for the organization first; then each person connects it.

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Edilab, paste the connector URL and press Continue. Keep the sign-in settings Claude finds, choose to sign in now, and press Add.
  4. The Edilab sign-in page opens. Sign in with your Edilab email, choose what Claude can see and do, and press Allow selected.
  5. In a chat, press + at the bottom left, open Connectors and switch Edilab on.

On Team or Enterprise: an Owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors. Then you find Edilab under Customize → Connectors and press Connect.

Gemini — coming soon. Edilab will turn Gemini on once its sign-in has been tested with our server. The steps will appear here.

04 · Try asking

Plain words. Real answers.

A few things clients ask. What the assistant can answer depends on the services your company has with Edilab and the switches you turned on.

  • What’s the status of my website?

Where your projects stand and what Edilab needs from you, plus any website review that’s open.

Needs: Projects & status · View (on)
  • Show me the designs waiting for my approval

Every design, website review and social post waiting for you, with links to open each one in Edilab.

Needs: Approvals · View items waiting (on)
  • Request changes on the homepage: make the logo bigger

Sends your website back to the team with that note — the same as Request changes in Edilab. With only Add comments on, the assistant can leave it as a comment on your homepage instead.

Needs: Approvals · Approve / request changes (off until you turn it on)
  • Upload these photos to my content library

Files never pass through the assistant: it gives you a secure link to Messages in Edilab, where you attach the photos for your team. Every file is virus-scanned before anyone opens it.

Needs: Files · Upload files (off until you turn it on)
  • When is my next invoice due?

Your open invoices with amounts and due dates, and the secure link to pay on Edilab’s invoice page. Paying never happens inside the assistant.

Needs: Invoices · View + get pay link (on)
05 · What permissions mean

You choose. Edilab checks every time.

When you connect, Edilab asks you to allow the assistant to access your account, with a switch for each item here. The ones that read start on; most that change something start off. You can change them any time in Settings → AI assistants.

  • It only ever sees your company.
  • Paying happens on Edilab’s invoice page, never inside the assistant.
  • Edilab may limit which switches your company can turn on; those don’t appear.
  • If something isn’t turned on, the assistant says so and points you to Settings → AI assistants.

06 · Pause or disconnect

Off in one tap, whenever you want.

In the Edilab app, open AI assistants — from the card on your Home, or at edilabstudio.com/settings/assistants. Each connection has these controls:

  1. Pause

Switch the connection off. It can’t read or change anything until you switch it back on — straight away, without connecting again.

  2. Edit permissions

The same switches you chose when you connected. Changes apply to the next thing the assistant does.

  3. View activity

Every request it made: when, what it was, whether it read or changed something, and the result.

  4. Disconnect

Ends the connection right away and its sign-in stops working. To use it again, connect again — it takes a minute.

You can also remove Edilab in ChatGPT’s or Claude’s own settings. If you leave your company in Edilab, or the company’s account is suspended, its connections end automatically.

Questions

Good to know.

Something else? Message your Edilab team in the app, or write to official@edilabstudio.net.

The assistant signs in with your own Edilab account over an encrypted connection, sees only your company and can only do what you switched on. Edilab checks those permissions on every request and logs each one in your activity.

No. Edilab only receives the requests the assistant makes to Edilab — for example “list my invoices” — and answers them. The rest of your conversation stays with ChatGPT or Claude under their own privacy terms, and so does what the assistant shows you there.

It can’t pay: it gives you the link to pay on Edilab’s invoice page. It can approve or request changes only if you turned that on, and only when you ask it to. An approval is final for that version, just like in Edilab.

Access is off for every company until Edilab turns it on. Ask your Edilab contact to turn it on, then connect again.

Yes. Each one shows up as its own connection in Settings → AI assistants, with its own permissions and its own on/off switch.

Gemini is coming: Edilab will turn it on once its sign-in has been tested with our server, and the steps will appear on this page. For now, connect ChatGPT or Claude.
